Happy Spring, everyone! I don’t know about you, but I was made for this weather. All of the fresh blooms, sunnier, warmer nights…the ability to run outside without bundling. Don’t get me wrong, I heart living somewhere where all seasons exist, but I really, really, really love Spring.
Mooovvinngg time! Guys. This was supposed to happen at the end of May, but you know, this is Manhattan and schedules are only so reliable. Anyway, we killed it. LZ and I separated our stuff like two Tasmanian Devils and packed hers in 20 rented bins. Who needs a gym? By Cinco de Mayo, all transitions should be made and there will be reasons to drink margs. Decorating will take place in May, so stay tuned for the updates (still need a hashtag)!
I think this is the first time I’m going to say there are no updates on this front. Sometimes you just don’t mess with a good thing.
Oh, my fave. Let’s see…this month I’m adding music into the mix (gotta keep you on your toes, peeps!). But first, books. It’s so crazy because I absolutely love warm weather reads, but as the weather warms up, I seem to read less. However…if I recommend one book to you this year (so far), let it be Slightly South of Simple for your first beach read. The darling and charming Kristy Woodson Harvey’s latest novel is the definition of a summer novel. I loved it almost as I love her. Oh, and Book Club Goes to…London met at the Bosie Tea Parlor in true British style to discuss Everyone Brave is Forgiven. Have you read it?
As far as TV aka Netflix goes, 13 Reasons Why. Watch it, marinate with it, watch it again. It’s easy to find frustration with all of the characters at least once during the show, but in the end, my takeaway is that everyone would be better off if we all were just a little more thoughtful about how our words and actions may be perceived by others. What’d you think of it? Also, Miles Heizer, new child-celebrity obsession.
And speaking of child-celebrities….well kind of children, kind of celebrities. I’m so happy for my (loose term here) friends, The Heydaze, for releasing their official second single a week ago. I’m secretly their biggest fan – like I totally recommend their music because it’s so good, not just because I want to see them succeed. The new single, New Religion is available on Spotify, iTunes and YouTube. Seriously, check ’em out.
IT’S SUNDRESS SEASON! FINALLYFINALLYFINALLY! Nothing makes me happier than being casual and still looking put together. Ergo, the sundress. Some of my favorites this season are from Lilly Pulitzer, Banana Republic and J. Crew (shocker).
I’m also really loving espadrilles this season. I know it’s hot enough, but my mind can’t transition to flip flops yet (aka my Jack Rogers collection). Therefore, enter Soludos.
I’m fresh off the plane from Nashville and a few weeks off the bus from Beantown…April was a busy month! The next couple of months are going to be even busier with both NYC plans and traveling. Up next in approximately 2 and a half weeks: CHS. There will be meetings and shopping and blow-outs friends and a plantation wedding. Can’t wait!
