Oh hey, End-of-Summer! I’ve had such a great season even though I’m not exactly sure where all of the time went. Anyway, I’m ready for fall: it’s my favorite style-wise and temperature-wise. But before we fully transition here on SB, let’s look back on August.
Life Update: My heart goes out to Houston and all of the people who are affected by Hurricane Harvey. Fall shopping is my favorite, and genuinely can’t wait to get in the stores, but at the moment, helping those in Texas is far more important. I encourage you all to donate or help the relief project in any way you can before spending on yourself.
That being said, I’ve finally had a little bit of time in my apartment, so those renovation projects I’ve had on hold are officially underway! Updates to come.
Entertainment Update: Good news! I’ve made a new entertainment category for regular posting, so check back throughout the month for my bingeing updates! That being said, I’ll still keep you updated on my reading challenge. I have FIVE books left to read to complete my goal for 40 books in 2017. Here’s what I read (and reviewed) this month:
Style Update: Raise your hand if you’re ready to be a little chilly and embrace sweater weather? I am! I’m currently on the hunt for boots, but the ones I want are sold out. This is the style I’m looking for: definitely on-trend but also not. You know, like me.
Travel Update: This month I spent a short amount of time in Scituate, MA, Cold Spring, NY and Hershey, PA. Like I said, all very short trips, but all great. I highly recommend a day-trip to upstate New York for those of you in Manhattan. You can take the train, and the scenery is beautiful (and the ice cream is delicious!). They’re all small, antique towns with B&B’s, local diners and river views. It’s great for a short change of scenery!
