New York City – and really, all up and down the east coast – is experiencing a severe cold front this week/end. I don’t know about you, but when I’m cold I cannot get enough of warm beverages. I’m a huge coffee and tea fan, but there is nothing like a cup of hot cocoa and either a movie or good book on a cold winter’s night. Daniela put together this recipe for us, that way we can indulge in chocolatey warmth without overdoing our sugar intake. I’m so excited!
Recipe below from Daniela:
Unsweetened Almond Milk (preferably Califa Farms because there’s no caragreenan)
2-3 tbsp Raw Cacao
Dash of Cinnamon
1/2 tsp of Peppermint Oil
Maple Syrup to taste
Slightly warm the almond milk on the stove. Then, add all powders and syrup. Stir until all dissolved and combined. Let cool, then top with these fun snowman marshmallows if you’re craving more sweet!
Note: You can add collagen peptides for extra protein and blend this concoction to turn it into a smoothie, too!
Pair with one of my 42 book recommendations from 2017, and enjoy! Stay warm, friends!
