Well folks, what a sad day it is when you step back into your office after eight days in the Caribbean. Obviously this means I’m back from Aruba. I had the best time doing basically nothing and am sad that I won’t be back to my little island happy place again ’till next year. But, coming back also means moving forward. Here’s what’s happening.
Guys I’m starting to meditate. For the past month, I’ve added a lot more yoga into my workout routine than I realized. Thinking about it, I enjoy the mindfulness and stretch, especially after a good cardio workout. A few days ago, I decided to download Headspace, the meditation app, to see if it’s something I’d be interested in committing to. It’s cool because your first 10 days are free! I’m on day 4, and really into it. It takes literally 5 minutes, and so far, so zen.
Same old, same old.
As I said I would, I finished the entire Pretty Little Liars series. All seven seasons. As always after a binge, I feel equal parts proud and concerned with my entertainment consumption abilities. Either way, I’m really happy with how the story unfolded, and since all eps are on Netflix, if you’ve never seen it, now’s your chance!
And speaking of Netflix, Aruba, being Dutch, operates using European Netflix. That means some of the titles available are different than we have here in good old America. My sisters and I took a
liking obsession to RuPaul’s Drag Race during our time on the desert island. Out of all the seasons I watched (three, total) I have two favorite Queens (shout-out to Raven and Raja!) but also a serious interest in drag culture and the show. RuPaul is life.
In case anyone is wondering, I’m SIX books ahead on my Goodreads challenge. SIX! Sorry to shout, but I’m super excited about that. This past month, I enjoyed everything that I read. The Imperfectionists was for my travel book club, but I didn’t get to make that meeting because Aruba.
With autumn rapidly approaching, I still get those back-to-school feelings about shopping and preparation for the year ahead. While I’m (for once) not headed back to school this year, I still have my heart set on a whole new wardrobe. LOL. Things I’m already keeping an eye out for: riding boots and a new coat.
Aruba is sadly in the past, and so are most of my vacation days for 2017. However, I’m looking forward to a few more weekend getaways in the second half of the year! This month I’m hoping to get to Scituate, then I’ll let you know where I’m off to next. Hint: I’m not done with CHS yet!
