Another month, same year. Can you even believe we’re reached the end of March? Did I start Feburary’s post saying the same? Probably. This year is just going by so quickly. With the (fingerscrossedhopefully) warmer months around the corner, I’ve got so many exciting things in my planner that I really want Father Time to take it easy so I can enjoy it all! But before we move forward in 2017 Simply Bedazzled tradition, let’s look back on the past 31 days.
Not much to report on the Life of Jessica, I’m afraid. Following up from Feb. and my newfound desire to stay a Manhattanite, I decided to renew my UES apartment lease (cheer, please)! Have I ever shown you my little slice of New York real estate? Don’t think so. I’ll be doing that soon because I’m going to completely redecorate this summer, and I’ll do a whole series about it right here. The whole thing will be done on a budget, crossing an item off of my 2017 goals list. Let’s come up with a fun hashtag for the project.
Speaking of my 2017 goals list, remember last month I decided to be ambitious and make a list of 28 goals to complete in my 28th year of life? I know, who could forget? Anyway, in order to keep myself motivated and keep you easily on my back about it, I created a new menu tab called #GOALS where I’ll continuously be updating my progress. Talk about being held accountable, sheesh.
Entertainment Update (Formerly Reading, then Reading/TV Update)
My entertainment strengths this past month came more in the form of binge-watching than binge-reading. I watched all of Revenge (obsessseddddd) and all of Gossip Girl this month. Wasn’t obsessed with GG, but was a huge fan of seeing my ‘hood so eloquently featured. Also, I really like Chuck Bass. And Blair….not Constance-Blair, but as she grew up. The crazy part of all of that binging: I kept up with my regular weekly shows too. Someone add a treadmill to my apartment renovations list?
As for reading, I’m still ahead of my book challenge, so that’s a plus. Oh! I also joined the New York Public Library. I feel so SJP, and can’t wait to go on a rainy day and check out books and lurk in the stacks. And, Book Club Goes to…Montreal met this month, after reading Lonely Hearts Hotel. We all felt very unsure about the book, check out my Goodreads review if you haven’t, and if you’ve read it, I’m curious of your thoughts. We met at Almond NYC, a French restaurant with eight different french fries on the menu. Oh yes. It was amazing, I highly recommend it and can’t wait to go back.
Things I’m currently rotating in to transition my wardrobe:
We already talked about me going back to CHS in May for my friend’s wedding, but so many things are happening between now and then. First off, tomorrow I’m heading out bright and early for Boston. Many of you know I used to live there and call the quaint New England city a second home. I’m really excited to catch up with friends and the city itself, go to my old favorites and see what’s new. And a couple of weeks after that, my sister and I are headed to Music City aka Nashville! I’ll do a Packed & Planned post like I did for Charleston in January, but in the meantime, any recommendations you have would be greatly appreciated!
