This is my first year hosting a Friendsgiving! This group of friends, the ones coming over on Friday, we usually have a Christmas brunch next month. Some traditions have to change a tad in order to stay consistent, though, right? So anyway, I figured I’d give you a little taste (get it?) of what I plan on serving.
I’m skipping the full-blown Thanksgiving setup because Thanksgiving is literally the day before our brunch. While I’m definitely stealing leftovers from my mom’s table (sorry, she’s definitely a better cook than me, and all of my friends will agree), I’m going to keep it simple.
When hosting at my apartment, I like to stick to small plates and a custom cocktail. The event’s more about gathering, and we traditionally end up going out for dinner and drinks following the apartment gathering. So here’s the plan:
- My mom’s famous sausage and mozzarella bread
- A cranberry sauce and brie bread
- Apple cider vinegar baked Brussels sprouts a la Chloe Coscarelli
- Marinated and baked chicken thighs
- Maple Old Fashioned
- Chocolate chip cookies!
I have two days, guys! Weigh in, what do you think about my menu?!
