I am so excited that my first trip of 2017 is to Charleston, South Carolina. I’ve been dying to visit this tiny little southern city. Everyone I know who has gone – or lived/s – there has told me there’s more to see than do in Charleston. I’m staying in the Historic District for three days, and plan on taking in as much of the pastel town as possible.
So as of today, three days before I leave, it looks like my trip is going to be warm and rainy. I’ve been really loyal to the Sun Gods lately, so hopefully they’ll make an appearance while I’m there. Either way, the themes of my packing are comfort and chic. Here’s what’s going in my Sunshine Satchel (see, Sun Gods, I’m really into you).
I’m staying in the Historic District, so I have no doubts that I’ll find some great landmarks within walking distance to my base. However, I’m also told some Charleston musts are the Angel Oak Tree, the Battery, Folly Beach (weather permitting), the Charleston City Market, Palmetto Carriage (for a horse drawn) or bike rental tours of the Historic District, and Rainbow Row. I can just imagine all of the doors and flowers I’ll be able to snap!
Everyone has recommended Poogan’s Porch for a great meal, and I’ve been told to consider Slightly North of Broad, Magnolias, Hominy Grill, Husk, The Americano, The Grocery, and Low Country Bistro as well. I’m interested in cute cafes and specialty bake shops, so I’ve put Rudi’s Fresh Village Wine Shop, Jenni’s Splendid Ice Cream, Vintage Coffee Cafe, and Glazed Gourmet Donuts on my radar.
