All of a sudden, we’ve got three days to pack and plan my trip to Nashville! I swear I cannot keep up with 2017 (#timeflies). Anyway, my sister and I will be in Music City for four days. Since we were younger, the two of us used to fantasize about spending 365 days in Nashville together – not a day more, not a day less. Even though we’ll be there lots of days less than 365, I’m still really excited that this is a trip we’re crossing off the list together.
I have no idea what to pack for this trip. OF COURSE it looks like it’s going to rain the whole dang time we’re there. Either way, I’m going with the notion of “cute and comfy,” anticipating lots of sight-seeing, walking and potential sweating since it’s basically already summer in TN. The only thing I know for sure is that I’m wearing this navy jumpsuit on the plane and I cannot wait for that outfit. But for the other three days? Hmpf. Here’s a list of some of the items that will potentially make an appearance in my AWAY bigger carry-on.* It’s not much, but hey, it’s a start.
We’re staying with friends and meeting up with more, so I’m sure we’ll be well taken care of and all of the must-see’s and must-do’s will be crossed off the Nashville list. That being said, there’s a few places I’m really hoping to prioritize. I’m dying to go to Draper James, Reese Witherspoon’s store. Also, duh, the Country Music Hall of Fame. If we come back from Nash without going there, someone please smack me.
Carla Hall also recommended Prince’s for hot chicken, and since she’s a Nashville-born chef with her own hot chicken place in Brooklyn, I completely trust her taste involving southern comfort food. You kind people have recommended some awesome-sounding places that I’m hoping not to miss out on, too, such as spending time on Broadway and Honky Tonk Highway (are they the same thing?), checking out the only life-size replica of the Parthenon and visiting 12 South.
Out of all of your food recs, Graze, Adele’s and Picnic Café are at the top of my list. Barista Parlor, Crema, Dose and Zollikoffee sound great for caffeine fixes. Ahh hoping we can squeeze so much eating into our four days there!
