Hey everyone, Happy Thanksgiving!
I just wanted to stop by very quickly and share a little thanks with you today.
What I’m thankful for
I am thankful for all of the people in my life. From family to friends to followers, there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think of you and wish happiness on your lives. Today, I am grateful for you.
I’m also so thankful for traditions. Especially during the holidays, I’m reminded how many traditions I’ve been a part of since I was little. These things can be small or large – all easy to overlook day to day. As generations grow and change, I encourage you to be mindful of your traditions and appreciate the generations before us that put us first.
Lastly, I’m thankful for opportunities. This year – 2017 – has been a very positive and challenging one for me, but definitely one of my favorites so far. I have my health, my people, a full travel calendar, great job and wonderful hobby that’s gaining fast traction. While I know I can handle and experience these things because of hard work, I also know I’m lucky to have the personal drive to work hard and a huge support system.
Ways for you to bring thanks back into your holiday
Talk about your thankfulness. I’ve summed mine up into three categories above, but I can easily elaborate in conversation (…get me started?). Do the same! Turn to the person next to you at your holiday table and discuss your thanks.
Gift leftovers. Send your holiday guests home with the leftovers from your meal. Generosity never hurt anyone!
Play a game of thanks! Hand everyone a piece of paper with another guest’s name on it, and have them say one thing they’re thankful for about the person on their card. Everyone will feel the love!
I hope you all have a wonderful holiday!
