Because my gym is so close to my apartment, I rarely have to bring a loaded gym bag to my workouts. Most of the time, I literally throw my wallet, water bottle, keys and phone into a tote and just run. However, on the days I either need to shower or change at the gym for whatever reason, the bag gets a little bigger and a little heavier.
I’ve mentioned I have a membership at Equinox, and one of the perks of that membership is a locker room filled with Kiehl’s products. There are also razors, towels, tampons, deodorant (spray) and more. Fortunately, I like all of the stuff they supply, so I don’t have to worry about packing a toiletries case. That being said, here’s what I do pack.
Wallet, Keys, Phone: The necessities!
Hair ties & Brush: I always lose hair ties, and I have a feeling I’m not alone in that. So, I keep a few in my gym bag at all times. I bring the travel-size version of the DryBar brush with me and I love it!
iPad: If I’m early for a class, I can read or play solitaire. God forbid I use the treadmill or something before a workout.
Water Bottle: Duh. I keep it empty in my bag, and then fill and refill at the gym.
Hanky Pankies: I prefer to always keep a clean pair of underwear with me. Especially if the shower is happening, this is a no-brainer.
Flip Flops: To walk home in – I hate putting socks on damp feet. If it’s cold, I’ll wear my Uggs to the gym and throw my socks and sneakers in the bag.
In case I get hungry, sometimes I’ll throw an RXBAR in there, or if I’m out of them, there’s a Juice Press right in the gym!
